Conference T-Shirt & Community Support

As part of the 2026 OPBA Annual Conference, OPBA is proud to support Indigenous community initiatives through this year’s conference t-shirt and charitable partnership.

Supporting Atlohsa Family Healing Services

OPBA is proud to support Atlohsa Family Healing Services, a charitable Indigenous organization based in Southwestern Ontario.

Atlohsa is dedicated to strengthening Indigenous communities through Indigenous-led programs and services that support holistic healing and wellness. With a deep commitment to culturally grounded care, Atlohsa provides women, men, children, and youth with the tools, teachings, and resources they need to support their healing journeys and build strong, resilient futures.

Conference T-Shirt

This year’s OPBA Conference t-shirt was designed by Leslee White-Eye of Antler River Trading Company. The design draws on the visual language of Eastern Woodland Indigenous art and connects procurement practice to truth and reconciliation.

The Story Behind the Design

This design draws on the visual language of Eastern Woodland Indigenous art to connect procurement practice to truth and reconciliation. The birch bark basket is a foundational symbol of trade and exchange among Eastern Woodland peoples — a vessel crafted from the land to carry, store, and share its bounty. The flowers spilling from its mouth represent the abundance that flows from fair and inclusive economic relationships.

Wearing this design is a commitment. Ontario’s public buyers have both the authority and the responsibility to open supply chains to Indigenous businesses. Procurement is not a neutral act — it reflects values, priorities, and relationships.

Meaningful inclusion of Indigenous suppliers is a direct response to TRC Calls to Action 57 and 92, which call on institutions to build economic literacy about Indigenous peoples and to ensure that business and public sector relationships are grounded in the spirit of reconciliation.

This shirt asks a simple question: whose goods are in your basket?
